International courts require judges who can deliberate effectively with colleagues from different legal traditions and professional backgrounds. Drawing on his judicial experience, his practice in international litigation, and his participation in the negotiations and drafting work of the Ljubljana-The Hague Diplomatic Conference, Professor Amani has demonstrated his ability to foster constructive legal dialogue, to reconcile often divergent positions and perspectives through reasoning grounded in legal principles, and to participate fully in decision-making within a collegial bench.
